Site name: Cheezburger Network

Site description: The Cheezburger Network is a relatively large network of sites, each with its own dedicated theme. The most famous and most popular of these, and where the network got its namesake, is I can haz cheezburger?, otherwise known as the lolcats website. Each of these sites are sharing places for people's funny recreation of images, ranging from people's pictures of food doing weird things (My Food Looks Funny) to funny random gifs (Senor Gif), and a new one called Intertube Records, which is a collection/showcase of some of the best Youtube videos available (in case you don't feel like wading through them yourself).

What makes the site unique: Nowhere else is there a larger collection of images that are created and recreated by users. The site is a paradigm of clever, witty, and hilarious user-created content. There's so much that can't really be summarized, but if someone is looking for a laugh, there are so many new pictures flowing into these sites daily that you'll never go wanting.

Summary: Overall, I think the website does wonderfully. Otherwise, I wouldn't visit its many counterparts everyday and have my eyes streaming with laughter whenever I do. And one of the best parts about it is its constant renewal. There are more pictures everyday, and they're almost always funny. And if one site isn't quite your cup of tea, there are others. Many, many others. And they're all worth a look.

Site name: Fanfiction.net

Site description: Fanfiction.net is a place where people can go to post and read stories written by fans, about the stories that the fans care about. It is a website dedicated to literary creations of fans, showing their love of the story by examining it from different angles and exploring the depth of the characters, settings, and situations, which perhaps were not explored to their full potential in the original sources. As you can see, there are about as many categories as there are media for stories to reach the general populace.

What makes the site unique: I suppose what makes Fanfiction.net the most unique is the astonishingly wide variety of fandoms represented there. Its archiving is also better than any other site of its kind that I have seen.

Summary: Honestly, this is a great site, but there are many other places to find fanfiction nowadays, and much better fanfiction. This is a starting point for many stories, but the good ones are filtered out to Livejournal and Dreamwidth, primarily. Livejournal I know a little bit more about, in that it has specific journals dedicated to a particular fandom, and sometimes not only the fandom, but also genre/theme and character pairing.

Site name: The Music Made Me Do It

Site description: First of all, there are some pictures and words that I censored as (more likely than not) inappropriate for a school assignment. Anyway, The Music Made Me Do It is basically a wiki site for music of any type ever created and pretty much any artist or band you can think of. It has entries about band bios, lyrics, discography, and even little factoids about the subject that you may not normally have known.

What makes the site unique: I don't think I've seen another site like it. There are wikis for a wider variety of things (wikipedia.org, for example), or for other, more specific things (take Wookieepedia). This is somewhere in between that, covering specifically music, and I do mean pretty much any music you can think of.

Summary: Honestly, this is a site that I've come upon relatively recently, and I'd need to explore it more to say more about it, but it's a pretty cool site that has always had the answers for me when I had questions about a band or specific artist. While it's true that I could always go to Wikipedia or the own artist's website, the MMDI site seems to not only be more specific, but also have more information, and be impartial in its delivery of the facts, which is much appreciated.
